Our Brilliant Mistakes

- Covelo Clothing
- Web designing for fashion designers is quite interesting. Covelo has a distinct look from their printed material that was a challenge to capture. Web design is not a 1:1 relationship. Ideas that work in print do not always translate to the web. Still, the crisp, clean images provided made for a very nice design.

- The Colorado Research Mine
- This site uses a database-driven approach to show University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center School of Medicine faculty via their research expertise. The tag-based approach provides a unique way to create a web of possible research collaborators.

- Colorado Center for AIDS Research
- The Colorado CFAR is a collaborative effort of HIV/AIDS investigators from the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center and its affiliated institutions. The University of Colorado and its affiliated institutions constitute the only comprehensive AIDS research center between St. Louis and California.

- ClinImmune Labs
- ClinImmune Labs wanted a site re-design from the ground up. The site is not quite live yet but soon to be posted.

- Denver Eye-Paws
- Denver Eye-Paws is a local puppy raising organizations affiliated with Guide Dogs for the Blind. This was a volunteer site for a group my daughter works with. The site uses some cheap techniques (roll-overs for images) that were very popular with the club members.

- Emily Griffith Opportunity School
- An experimental, simple design.

- Graduate Medical Education
- Taking a pretty dull template and giving it some color via the navigation bar.

- M-Cubed: Mentor, Mentee Matching
- A tab-based design that has a database backend providing some very interestiung connections to find a menotr in a particular field.

- ROOBY: Revascularization On and Off Bypass
- A site with rounded corners to otherwise bite back at boxy design.

- Sickle Cell Adult Provider Network - SCAPN
- Another site with rounded corners.

- The Colorado Collaboration on Health and the Internet
- This design took a table-based design and turned it into a standards compliant (xhtml strict) non-table layout. May never be adopted but it still makes business sense in that it is a smaller file that is more accessible to users.
- The site will serve as a Web portal on health & Internet related issues. The site is maintained through a database and administrative interface.

- Boulder Green Builders
- Site designed in Fireworks but never saw the light of a monitor.

- ACE Tennis Charting
- Site production for fast moving tennis product; tried to capture the swing of a racket on the block layout of a court.
- Site owners later added a bunch of links to the homepage using graphics that were not part of original design, but, hey...its their site!

- Chewy's Bonetique
- This is a site under development but tries to capture the whimsical nature of the business while providing the information her client's want.

- Technology Partners USA version 2
- This was the final version accepted by the client. For this design the client has been using Macromedia Contribute to maintain the content. We did the training with them for Contribute and turned them loose and they have the site they want. Below are some early design ideas we presented.

- Technology Partners ver. 1.3
- I added this screen shot to show how we provided Technology Partners USA a number of different versions before they settled on the one above.

- Central Colorado AHEC ver. 2
- This is a not for profit site we completed. There is a very nice (I think) calendar page on the site that ties their calendar and registration into a database. A nice use of a database that was adapted from www.asp101.com.

- Central Colorado AHEC ver. 1

- CU4CDE - Continuing Education Calendar
- Database driven portfolio site for registering for dental continuing education. The screen capture shows the calendar interface for the public. There is a administrative interface for adding and editing calendar events.

- UCHSC Housestaff
- Site to promote the workings of the Housestaff at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

- Metro Denver Science Fair
- A somewhat juvenile site for a slightly juvenile science fair. So we play around with some CSS that is Internet Explorer-centric coloring on the scroll bar.

- PHNLink - Public Health Nurse Link
- Another not for profit site with a nice little mural of photos gathered from the state archives.

- Patient Safety
- An educational site for a patient safety grant through the Colorado Area Health Education Center. A site from Annie's own workspace.

- UCHSC Medical Oncology
- From a series of sites related to the Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. This was adapted from a table-based site to a table-less layout.

- The Watermark
- A small stationery shop in the Lowry Towne Center trying to make a bit of a splash on the Web.
