The Emily Griffith Opportunity School is the oldest adult vocational/technical school in the United States and enrolls between 11,000 and 15,000 students each year. Individualized hands-on instruction prepares students for jobs as accountants, welders, and approximately 55 other careers or trades in between. Up-to-date accredited courses are offered in an affordable, professional, and friendly environment.

Courses

Emily Griffith Opportunity School offers over 350 courses of study making it one of the most diverse adult educational institutions in Colorado. Credit from technical programs is transferable to the Colorado community college system for those students desiring an AAS degree.

Approximately 300 instructors use curriculum that is kept current with industry standards. Advisory committee members from business and industry guide development of new curriculum.

Available

The school operates day and night including Saturday. Many classes are open entry/open exit so students can start class when it's convenient for them and work at their own pace. The school offers financial aid for qualifying students and job placement for those completing programs.

This is the school's 88th year of operation and through all of these years the philosophy has been to provide individualized instruction in a diverse educational environment for "all who wish to learn".

During the 2002-2003 school year, training was provided for 13,700 students.
